The Embassy currently oversees Philippine bilateral relations with Kenya, Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

The Embassy also serves as the Philippine Mission to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat).

 

Embassy History

The first resident diplomatic mission of the Philippines in East Africa was opened in the Republic of Kenya on 04 July 1975 by Charge d’Affaires Ismael D. Quiambao. On 01 August 1975, the first resident Ambassador, Mauro O. Baradi, arrived in Nairobi. He presented his credentials to President Mzee Jomo Kanyatta at the State House, Nakuru, four days after his arrival, on 5 August 1975.
