The Philippine Embassy wishes to advise the public that applications for Temporary Visitor’s Visa (9a) must be submitted through the Online Visa Application System (OVAS) (https://www.visa.gov.ph).

Once the application is submitted, the applicant shall be contacted by the Embassy’s Consular Section for the next steps, which may include submission of additional documentary requirements, among others.

Other possible exemptions (for visa-required countries/ restricted foreign nationals) for the issuance of a Temporary Visitor’s Visa (9a) are subject to the consideration of authorities in the Philippines. VISA APPLICATION STEPS

  • Fill up application at https://www.visa.gov.ph.
  • Wait for the notification from the Embassy Consular Section that the application was received.
  • Submit the original documentary requirements upon the instruction of the Consular Officer. Requirements may be submitted personally, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or may be submitted through courier, arranged by the applicant.

 VISA GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Accomplished Non-Immigrant Visa Application Form (https://www.visa.gov.ph);
  2. Original passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the authorized period of stay in the Philippines;
  3. Two (2) passport-sized photographs using plain background taken within the last six (6) months;
  4. Invitation letter from the sponsor/s in the Philippines, including copy of valid passport or other government-issued IDs of the Philippine sponsor;
  5. Police Clearance/Certificate of Good Conduct issued by national police authority in applicant’s country of origin or country of legal residence;
  6. Round-trip airline ticket;
  7. Proof of financial capacity (Certified True Copy of latest bank statement for the last three months);
  8. Copy of National Identification (ID);
  9. An exit and entry immigration stamp on applicant’s passport (for nationals or residents of countries where Embassy has jurisdiction who are entering Kenya)
  10. Copy of yellow fever vaccination certificate; and
  11. Visa fees based on schedule of consular fees set by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.

Note: Documents not in English must be accompanied by an English translation.

FOREIGN NATIONALS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE PHILIPPINES VISA-FREE

Foreign nationals traveling to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes may enter the Philippines without visa, provided they:

  • Qualify as former Filipino citizens with Balikbayan privilege under Republic Act No. 9174, including their spouse and/or children who are not balikbayans in their own right and are traveling with them to the Philippines: provided that they are not restricted nationals; or
  • Are a citizen/national of the following countries entitled to a stay not exceeding 30 days (Executive Order 408, S. 1960, as amended). The countries covered by EO 408, s. 1960 are enumerated in the DFA official website (click here);
  •  Are fully vaccinated except for minor children below twelve (12) years of age traveling with their fully vaccinated foreign parent/s;
  • Carry/possess an acceptable proof of vaccination;
  • Present a negative RT-PCR test taken within forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date and time of departure from the country of origin/first port of embarkation in a continuous travel to the Philippines, excluding lay-overs; provided that they have not left the airport premises or have not been admitted into another country during such layover;
  • Have valid tickets for their return journey to the port of origin or next port of destination not later than 30 days from date of arrival in the Philippines;
  • Have passports valid for a period of at least six (6) months at the time of their arrival to Philippines; and
  • Obtain, prior to arrival, a travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment costs from reputable insurers, with a minimum coverage of USD 35,000.00 for the duration of their stay in the Philippines.

Visa-free foreign nationals who fail to comply with the conditions and requisites shall be denied admission into the country and shall be subject to the appropriate exclusion proceedings.
