PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN NAIROBI CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA

DAR ES SALAAM, 8 April 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi successfully conducted its first consular outreach mission for 2025 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, at the Onomo Hotel on 6 April 2025.
 
The Embassy team, composed of Vice Consul Jopol Alvin Ancheta and Consular Assistant and Attache Jose Aguilera, Jr., provided essential consular services, including passport application, civil registry, authentication, and other support to the Filipino community in Tanzania.
 
In addition to delivering consular services, the Embassy team took the opportunity to engage with Filipinos residing in Tanzania, assess their situation, and encourage participation in the Embassy’s ongoing online mapping survey of overseas Filipinos.
 
The Embassy team also urged registered overseas voters to pre-enroll for the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) ahead of the 2025 National Elections.
 
The Filipino community in Tanzania, estimated at around 400 individuals, comprises mainly professionals and skilled workers employed in the manufacturing and services sectors.
 
Tanzania is one of the 13 countries under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. Dar es Salaam, the former capital of Tanzania, is located along the Indian Ocean coast and continues to play a vital role in the country’s economic landscape.
