PH EMBASSY WELCOMES ANTI-TERRORISM OFFICIALS

Nairobi, 20 February 2025. The Philippine Embassy welcomed Undersecretary Bernardo C. Florece, Jr. of the Anti-Terrorism Council—Program Management Center (ATC-PMC). He was accompanied by Presidential Staff Officer V Gayle Gloria-Raagas.

Undersecretary Florece represented Southeast Asia in the European Union (EU) Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Center of Excellence Heads of Secretariat Meeting held in Nairobi on 18-19 February 2025.

During the visit, Philippine Ambassador to Kenya, Marie Charlotte G. Tang, and Undersecretary Florece discussed PH initiatives on CBRN, such as the proposed Chemical Weapons Prohibition Act (CWPA), which would prohibit the development, production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons in the country. They also discussed strengthening the Philippines’ cooperation with Kenya and other countries under the jurisdiction of the Embassy. END
