Nairobi, 11 February 2025. Philippine Ambassador to Kenya, Marie Charlotte G. Tang, attended the first-ever New Year Diplomatic Address by Kenyan President William Ruto on 10 February 2025, at the State House in Nairobi.

In his address, President Ruto outlined Kenya’s foreign policy priorities, focusing on peace and security, sustainable development, and climate resilience. He also emphasized the importance of multilateralism, adherence to the UN Charter, and the promotion of partnerships, including bilaterally and through South-South cooperation.

He welcomed suggestions to enhance collaboration between regional blocs, such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the East African Community (EAC).

The address is set to become an annual event aimed at strengthening Kenya's collaboration with the diplomatic community.END
