Nairobi, Kenya- The Embassy of the Philippines in Nairobi invited Kenyan kids to taste Filipino Food Stuff at the Philippine Embassy, 001 Mzima Springs Road, Lavington, Nairobi, Kenya on 13 April 2019.
The Kenyan Kids are ages 7-12 years old, with enough discernment to know the type of foodstuff they like.
On the whole the kids loved the Filipino Food Stuff, particularly the Tender Juicy Hotdogs as they are familiar to Kenyan hotdogs but they say the Philippine hotdogs are better. They also like the Boy Bawang as their staple food ugali is maize based. They were initially skeptical about the Ube ice cream because of its purple color but liked it when they tasted it.
The Embassy hopes that with this project, manufacturers will realize that Kenyan tastes are very similar to Filipino taste and consider exporting their products to East Africa.
Nickson Omukhango, Shali Afandi, Santos Lukoye, Trevis Jumba, Cyrus Njoroge, Maxwell Giponga, Natasha Wanjiru and Mutiara Mugambi participated in the project.
The kid’s videos can be viewed the Embassy’s facebook page: Philippine Embassy Nairobi.
