In his remarks, Ambassador Chua expressed his appreciation to the Filipino Community for their enthusiasm for their Filipino identity and for sharing with their community their values, traditions and culture.
The Family Day began with a Filipino Mass Officiated by Father Eric Dula and Father Eutiquio Mula, Jr.
Madamme Marie Marla Chua also led the Embassy Staff in a medley of dances featuring Filipino OPM Pop hits of the 1990. When asked why she chose a OPM instead of the traditional folk dance, Madamme Chua replied that “Philippine culture and heritage is dynamic and continuously evolving, and the 90’s is a part of our history and our heritage.
