NEW FILCOM-KENYA OFFICERS SWORN IN
NAIROBI, 14 September 2023 – The new set of officers of the Filipino Community in Kenya (Filcom-Kenya) took their oath of office before Ambassador Marie Charlotte G. Tang at the Philippine Embassy on 14 September 2023.
Ms. Laureta A.-van der Vliet, Ms. Rachel G. Arciaga, and Fr. Norman Labutan, SVD will serve as Filcom-Kenya Executive Board Members until 2025.
Prior to their oath-taking ceremony, outgoing Filcom-Kenya officers Mr. Jesus Lopez, Mr. Arnie Umayam, Ms. Rosalinda Ladha, and Ms. Pamela Muijtjens (represented by Ms. Bernadette Umayam) were recognized by Ambassador Tang for their leadership, service to the Filipino community in Kenya, and invaluable contributions to the various projects of the Embassy.
There are around 200 Filipinos in Kenya. The Filcom-Kenya Executive Board works closely with the Embassy to promote the welfare of Filipinos in the country. END

NAIROBI, 05 September 2023 – Ambassador Marie Charlotte G. Tang welcomed Liwayway Food South Africa Ltd. Operations Manager Mr. Kyle Sy to the Embassy on 04 September 2023.
Mr. Sy is currently in Nairobi to explore collaboration opportunities in the Kenyan market.
Liwayway is a well-known Philippine company that specializes in the production of fast-moving consumer goods, including snack products under the Oishi brand, beloved to Filipinos . END
PH AMBASSADOR TANG MEETS WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN UGANDA

KAMPALA, 23 August 2023 -- Philippine Ambassador to Uganda Marie Charlotte G. Tang (with residence in Nairobi, Kenya) met with the Filipino community in Kampala, Uganda during her visit to the country on 20-23 August 2023.
Ambassador Tang expressed her appreciation for the Filipinos in Uganda who not only help their respective families back in the Philippines but also contribute to the development of the Ugandan society.
She also commended the Filipinos in Uganda for remaining united and extending a helping hand to one another. She assured the community that the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi, in coordination with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Kampala, will always be ready to provide assistance and services.
The Filipinos expressed their appreciation for the Embassy's regular outreach to Uganda not only to render consular services but to also check on their situation.
There are around 250 Filipinos in Uganda, many of them working in the construction sector (as engineers), educational institutions, UN agencies, religious missions, and multinational corporations. END
