PH EMBASSY IN KENYA COMMEMORATES 128TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARTYRDOM OF DR. JOSE RIZAL

NAIROBI, 27 December 2024 — In commemoration of the 128th anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal's martyrdom, the Philippine Embassy in Kenya held a flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony, led by Chargé d’affaires, a.i. Maria Rosanna O. Josue at the chancery lobby on 27 December 2024.

In her remarks, Chargé d’affaires Josue highlighted Dr. Rizal’s contributions to the Philippine fight for independence and his lasting influence on the nation's values. Under the theme Rizal sa Bagong Pilipinas: Buhay at Aral, Aming Nilalandas (Rizal in the New Philippines: Life and Teachings, as our Guide), she encouraged everyone to be inspired by Dr. Rizal's example, to embrace learning and uphold integrity.

The ceremony concluded with a call to honor Dr. Rizal's memory by embodying his values through meaningful actions and a commitment to positive change. END.
